I have worked with hypergrowth unicorns such as REEF and WeWork, as well as early-stage startups such as Barkbus, where I was hired as the fourth corporate employee and led the strategy and operations function.
I am a people-centric leader who thrives on collaborating with diverse teams across industries, geographies, and levels of seniority. I have hired, trained, and managed national teams, generated multimillion-dollar revenue, scaled operations across multiple markets, and launched new products and services. I have also developed digital and OOH marketing strategies to drive growth and engagement.
Bridget Freas, Corporate Finance

Bridget has spent the last few years focused on volunteer work and getting to know the nonprofit sector in Chicago. This includes several engagements with Booth Alumni Nonprofit Consultants (BANC), Impact Grants Chicago, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County, and meaningful Board service. Prior to this, Bridget spent more than 20 years in corporate finance, including investment banking, equity research, investor relations, and treasury management. In her last role, she spent 5 years as Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations for a marketing services company, InnerWorkings, Inc., which HH Global acquired.
Bridget holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Marquette University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is a CFA Charterholder.
Michelle Humes, Lake Forest Graduate School
President
Michelle Humes has joined Lake Forest Graduate School of Management as the Director of Leadership Solutions for the Corporate Learning Solutions Group. Michelle previously worked at Harvard Business School Publishing as an Associate Director of the Global Learning Solutions team managing clients in North and South America. In that role, Michelle provided best practices in management and leadership development with a wide range of Fortune 500 and Global 1,000 clients. Her goal is to architect leadership development solutions that align with an organization’s objectives and outcomes.
Michelle started her career as a Consultant at Andersen Consulting and Alaris Consulting (now part of PwC). She found her passion on projects as a Change Management expert and made the transition into corporate Learning and Development. Michelle led Learning and Development efforts at TransUnion for five years prior to joining Harvard Business Publishing.
Michelle received her Bachelors of Science in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from Miami University of Ohio. Michelle also holds a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. She speaks English, German, and Spanish.
Jarrell Lee, KIPP Chicago
School Leader, Jarell is the Founding School Leader of KIPP Academy Primary in Chicago, a school built on the values of love, joy, and community. Prior to moving to Chicago, Jarell served as the School Leader of KIPP NJ Life Academy and as an Assistant School Leader at KIPP NJ Seek Academy.
Prior to joining the KIPP team, Jarell taught second grade at Uncommon Schools: Excellence Boys Elementary Academy as a Teach For America Corps Member. He also led the third-grade team, developed a character education system, and led school-wide joy initiatives to invest students in school culture systems. Jarell also served as the Founding Dean of School Culture at Achievement First Aspire Elementary School, where he created systems and rituals to invest students and to support struggling students. Additionally, Jarell coached teachers as the First Grade Academic Dean.
Jarell received a B.A. in Sociology & African-American Studies from Harvard University, a M.S. in Elementary Education from Teacher U at Hunter College, and a Master’s in Supervision and Administration from the University of Houston. Outside of school, Jarell loves to play with his son and puppy, go to the gym, watch NBA games, and wear fanny packs.
Carlos Marquez, Perfect Day
Carlos was born in Venezuela. His father is from Spain, and his mother is of Ukrainian descent. He moved to the US when he was 16 to try his luck at professional tennis. He played pro for a couple of years and then decided to go to college with a tennis scholarship. He graduated with a double degree in finance and economics from Florida Atlantic University. He also has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He currently works for a startup based in San Francisco as a director of finance.
Claudia Mazo, Lands' End
Vice President
Claudia Mazo is the senior vice president of retail and Lands’ End Outfitters (LEO) for Lands’ End, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for developing and leading Lands’ End’s retail stores and business outfitters strategies. She oversees all store operations, field management, and marketing for the retail business and is responsible for successfully developing and executing retail go-to-market strategies, growing top-line revenue, and driving profitability for Lands’ End’s stand-alone retail stores.
Mazo has over 20 years of retail experience and is a senior business executive with a proven track record. She possesses a wealth of experience in the wholesale, retail, and international markets where she has successfully developed and implemented retail and distribution expansion strategies for global brands.
Prior to joining Lands’ End, she spent approximately five years at Tumi Holdings, Inc. serving in progressive leadership roles as vice president of Latin America, Vice President of retail for the East Region, and as SVP of Wholesale. From 2008 to 2012, Mazo was with Esprit International where she was VP of Merchandising for North America. She also served in merchandising, sourcing, and product development leadership roles at Liz Claiborne Inc. and Tommy Hilfiger Europe.
Mazo received her Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Languages from HES School of Economics and Business in Amsterdam.

Ben is obsessed with delivering an amazing experience for both hiring teams and candidates. Over the course of 15+ years in recruiting, he has worked in a large national recruiting firm, a small Chicago-focused firm and led corporate talent acquisition for a global IT services firm. Those experiences have reinforced the importance of understanding a new hire’s impact on a business and having real conversations with candidates within the recruiting process. Ben founded Singleton Group with the goal of bringing those recruiting practices to his clients, allowing them to hire great talent that pushes their business to new heights.
Dr. Kate Wolin, PACE Healthcare Capital

Dr. Kate Wolin is an entrepreneurial executive and behavioral epidemiologist. After a successful academic medicine career leading research at the intersection of behavior change and disease prevention and management, Kate co-founded and led a digital health start-up that was acquired by Anthem, Inc. In her subsequent roles with both public and early-stage companies, she has worked to bridge research-tested health solutions and commercial scalability in product strategy and execution. She earned her doctorate at the Harvard School of Public Health, completed her fellowship training at Northwestern University, and currently mentors aspiring healthcare entrepreneurs at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University.
Dr. Debbie Yaver, Nature's Fynd
Debbie is an optimist by nature, which fuels her belief that you can always find a way when there's a challenge. As an inventory of approximately 40 issued patents and the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, Debbie has proven this belief throughout her 28-year career at Novozymes. With expertise in fungal expressions, fermentation, and protein production, Debbie uses her extensive experience to drive scientific processes at Nature’s Fynd. Her breadth of knowledge and passion for science inspire her work of promoting STEM careers among women and other minority groups by educating students about creative and sustainable solutions.
